A Guyanese girl is now the fastest 9-10 sprinter in New York City after winning three titles at the

USATF New York Junior Olympic Track & Field two-day Championship at the Ichan Stadium in Manhattan which concluded on Sunday.
Kcaysha Medas-King finished ahead of all her competitors in the 100m, 200m & 400m and has qualified for the region 1 Championship in Albany from July 7-9.
The talented lass raced to victory in the 100m in a time of 14.18 seconds, the 200m in 28.5 seconds and the 400m in 104.35 seconds.
The 9-year-old sprinter, would want to follow in the footsteps of 100m champion Jennifer Inniss, Brenessa Thompson who won the 200m in 22.99 in May this year at the NCAA Division I West Preliminary United States Lawrence, United States and 400m sprinter Aliann Pompey, who are all Guyanese and even surpass them.
She will now focus her attention on next month’s Albany Championships.
